points refund?

Reported someone - received notification they were banned for using assistance. Did not receive my points refund - which was a lot as I was provisional. Dropped from 2360 to like 2230ish. Can I get those points back?
Yes. You can play rated games. The lower your rating is, the more points you get from each win against a player with a given rating.
Also the lower your rating, the less points you lose from each loss against a player with a given rating. So after a few games you will get your rating points back.

If you play much lower rated opponents, you should be aware that it takes lots of wins to get back all the points lost by a single loss or even a draw.

I don't think rating is so important to be worth time it takes to the mods to calculate the refund especially if the cheater has not been banned right away and you played a few games since. I believe an exception is for players who are on the top of the rating list, titled players or both.

The most famous example of a player who should have got the points refunded is GM Wesley So. If he got refunded all the rating points that he lost to a cheater, he might have stayed on Lichess. Then he would have been featured in more tournaments and been a judge in brilliance competitions. He might have also been the best simul host.
I was almost 2400 when I lost to the cheater - which would have put me in the top 100 for classical.
I have no clue what it takes to get such a high rating. You must be a titled player. Get your FIDE title put before your username and I am sure the mods will take a good care to refund all the points you lose to cheaters.
I am FIDE titled but I prefer to play on an anonymous account.
Refunds don't apply to provisionally rated players.
