Why no female players?

The brain is one of the most complicated structures ever. These studies have some merit, I'm sure, with advanced statistics and such, but really science can't explain how the brain works, imo.

I imagine in 500-2000 years we'll have a lot more answers. Even then things will probably still be mysterious.
#43 If you read any of the articles you would realize that bigger brain is not equal to smarter. The mammal with the biggest brain is the sperm whale. As far as I know their species have yet to send someone to the moon.
Judit Polgar reached #8 in the world. Way fewer women played chess (and fewer begin playing still, to the best of my knowledge) so we likely are seeing a large discrepancy in number of players. Same reason there has never been a Chinese world champ (i.e. fewer Chinese played chess-until recently, and same reason there have been many Russian champs, but only one American). To those arguing over "brain structure" etc etc, I challenge you to be a lot more critical of your internet "research" on complex topics.
Lots of girls play chess early. They get pushed out by boys that don't know how to behave around girls in their early teen years.
