is there such a thing as the Salad opening? or no?

Someone please explain this because I feel it's a new opening

You can make your own opening, then call it Salad Opening.
Then someone will develop it to Salad Rejected Opening, Salad Accepted Opening, Salad Yummy Opening, Salad & Meat Opening.

Do you play 1.lettuce e4 or 1.lettuce d4?

If you can fry a liver, you could probably eat a lettuce.

You can surely make any. Italian Salad, French Salad, Japanese Salad openings, etc.

there is no lettuce it's just an opening but to start the opening you have to play A3
