ELO was never close and allowed opponents +/-200 pts to play competitive matches without question as to who was the more favored. The new one is far more accurate and evens out the rather huge variations of the ELO rating system. I approve completely, congratulations!

hahaha, says the 1 who is 1200 and likes it bc it is 300 more than their actual rating, this one isnt accurate

I think both systems are very sophisticated and the math behind them is quite advanced. I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough about either to say if I like the change but I do know that many respectable organizations have already made the same switch and it will certainly be more convenient when comparing ratings with other sites.

It's good because there's more variance between the players now. It used to be that most people were between 1200-1400, and it was very difficult to differentiate between strong and weak players. Now there's a nice spread of ratings all the way from 1000 to 2500~, so it's much easier to play someone who's at your own level. If anything, that's probably the greatest advantage of this new system.

I've been here for a good 2? Years now, on and off. And the number of changes, gradual improvements, have yielded a phenomenal end result. The rating system is superb, my friend. I've nothing but the utmost thanks for your efforts.
