Why do GM's not have someone else write the moves for them?

In tennis and football you have ball boys, in the UFC you have your corner that gives you water and towels you down. It seems a bit archaic that GMs still write the moves down themselves. They should delegate that responsibility to someone else so they can concentrate 100% on the game.
By writing down before moving you have another chance to notice any better moves.
1) GMs have notated thousands of games, its not much of a distraction to them at all

2) They need it in order to claim 3 move repetitions, count for 50 move rule, see how close they are to reaching move 40, etc.

3) Who do you suggest writes down the moves instead? Volunteers, one for every GM in the tournament? Where would they sit where they could see the board but not be a distraction to the players?
@magnussonofcarl According to article 8.1 of the FIDE rulebook, players are not allowed to write down their move before playing it. Many people are not aware of this rule. I think it was put in place to avoid cheating, like a friend looking at the move you wrote down and nodding.
Well we do have dgt boards so theres not really a point in writing down moves ... i think its more of a tradiction at this point.
Not a stupid question - in fact this is the norm for go/weiqi and shogi professional matches, where the move writing and the timekeeping is done by lower-ranking players in the same room.

Mind you, the culture/institution of the go and shogi world, and that of the chess world are rather different. The notions of respect and/or deference to seniors/superiors is more strongly emphasised in Japanese and generally East Asian culture, which is why this system works. I don't see it working in the chess world from a social (rating discrimination) rather than logistical point of view.
The real domestic tragedy is that GM's have to move their own chess pieces. Should this menial task not be delegated to domestics and drudges to appreciate a culture of pure thought? Sedan bearers have erroneously fallen out of fashion, too.

We cannot even enjoy the pastime of polo anymore, can we, for all of Britain's greens are now fouled by the newlywed hoi polloi in their petty attempts at what they call golfing.

The Empire is in a moribund state, Winston.

We should have never revealed the rules of our game to these Hajjis and Moors in the first place. Just let them memorize the board coordinates. That's all they need to know to move the pieces to the appropriate squares when commanded. This shall be best for them.
@CozyChess
Lichess is not an empire and my name is not Winston
are you suggesting that we enslave Muslims to make chess moves?
